Why Gina Trapani Is Wrong About The Pay Gap

Gina Trapani, founding/former editor of Lifehacker, has recently launched a new website http://narrowthegapp.com/ that, as far as I know, intends to inform more people about the pay gap between women and men. While doing this is certainly noble of her (given that she is not lying of course), the only problem is that the information on this website is downright wrong.

When you first visit the website, on the homepage it reads: "Women in the U.S. make 81 cents to the dollar men earn doing the same job."

This is not true. The truth is that women are paid less for doing different work than men. Or, to put it in a different way; women are not unfairly paid less for doing the same work that men do, they simply earn less for doing different work, working different hours, etc.

This myth, or lie if you will, that women are unfairly paid less for the same work, has been debunked many times. Yet, in our society, it is still an accepted belief that women are paid less for the same work.

I hope to help more people see the truth about the so-called pay gap beween men and women, by sharing a few videos with you.
I hope that you will give them a chance and watch all of them. They are all highly entertaining and thought-provoking.

To start things off, watch this short little video that will serve as an introduction:

Next, watch this 8 part series. It might seem long, but it is actually highly entertaining.

Last but not least, here is a three part documentary about the pay gap and how many women (especially feminists) only seek equal treatment when it suits them.

Thanks for taking the time to watch. Gina Trapani has a huge following on Twitter (over 200 thousand followers) so not holding her feet to the fire would be a huge mistake.

I want to personally thank the creator of the documentary series Man, Woman & Myth for his endless work when it comes to getting the truth out.
